Writing Tools if You Do Write
Do you want to write your own book, but think you are not a good enough writer to be able to pull it off? Well, that is absolutely no problem whatsoever! Thanks to modern technology, there are no longer any restrictions on who can become a bestselling author.
Just think, you no longer need to know how to spell or how to follow good grammar rules. You do not need a large vocabulary either. You simply need the right tools that will do all the difficult work for you.
Obviously, you need a good document program, whether it is Google Docs, Word, or some other document program. You can and should make use of the grammar and spell check options that the document program of your choice offers. That is just the beginning of the resources you can take advantage of though.
There are a variety of other programs and websites that can be used to for editing your work outside of the document program you are using. For instance Paperrater is an online resource that will grade your work and offer suggestions for improvements. Grammerly is a downloadable app that proof reads your work and also offers ideas for improvements.
Along with editing for spelling and grammar, the most important tools have to do with your own mind. Other books can be a writer’s best tool because reading what other people write will give essential inspiration. It will also give you the ability to learn from the examples set by your favorite authors.
Challenge yourself to read often and reflect on the following questions:
- What feelings were invoked from the words that the author used?
